Application, Features of Feedthrough Capacitors
The feed-through capacitor (filter), is a three-terminal filter. It provides high insertion losses in a wide band from the KHz to GHz region. In general, through-core capacitors provide a higher level of electromagnetic interference rejection than other types of capacitors, which is particularly relevant for circuit devices with impedance sources less than 50Ω. Because it is directly installed on the metal panel, its ground inductance is smaller, almost no influence of lead inductance, in addition, its input and output are isolated by the metal plate, eliminating the high-frequency coupling, these two characteristics determine that the core capacitor has a filtering effect close to the ideal capacitor.
